Hello,

I create this little program called "ePSwitch" to use 2 ePrompters and can be launch, from 2 shortcuts, the ePrompter of my choice.
That's, of course, a freeware !

DESCRIPTION
ePSwitch enable to use 2 programs of ePrompter. After create a copy of the folder of ePromper® and a copy of the file "ePrompter.ini",
ePSwitch launch the ePromper® program of your choice.

But, to not use ePSwitch each time you want launch ePrompter, just execute ePSwitch with a command line,
it will be launch the 1st or 2nd ePrompter ( /1 for ePrompter 1 and /2 for ePrompter 2)

FEEDBACK
It works fine for me and I have tested on several OS, but if you have any problem or bug,
let me know on this forum, or with my email adress (can be found on web site, or click on "ePSwitch" button on the program).

Hope, you'll like it, that's my only objective.

Kristoff
(Sorry for my bad english and hope no grammatical mistake in ePSwitch  )

------------------------------------------------------------------
As agreed with ePrompter's developers,
KristOFF kindly agreed to allow the forum to host the file, so click on the download link at the bottom of this post if you'd like to give his software a test run ... thanx, KristOFF. :)

Updates:

September 19, 2008: Attachment updated from version 1.61 to 1.62
April 7 2009: Attachment updated from version 1.62 to 1.65 ... only posted May 18, 2009 .. my fault entirely!

Cheers,

Since you mentioned it, there is one spelling error, but I don't know if you want to worry about it. I took a screen snapshot and added a red "t" to show you where the "t" is missing.

Edit: I can see you've added the "t" in another view of ePSwitch's user interface.

It's not so big. I would make much bigger mistakes if I was using the French language, KristOFF!

hey, couldnt one of you canadians out there give kristOFF a hand, get all his (short) french texts, and make
proper english out if it? understanding what he has to say, how it works, and installing it without mistake is
of prime importance giving this little gem all the attention it is worth. people who already stumble about the
initial explanation will never dare to use it.

greetings - heinz -

Hey, heinz, I thought most everyone in your part of Europe spoke French as a second language ... or was that German or Italian or English ...? ;)

FYI, not all Canadians speak French. My version of French, btw, is "Quebecois" (i.e., French as spoken in the province of Quebec), so I may not be able to properly translate his "langue de Moliere" (i.e., French as spoken in France) ...

All kidding aside, KristOFF, if you'd like me to take a more critical look at the ePSwitch GUI, I'd be happy to. :) I see that dRose has already helped you out.

Cheers!

In the "DESCRIPTION" section on the right, ePrompter® is missing its "t" in three places as well. I didn't want to nitpick so I didn't mention those before.

Those were KristOFF's words, heinz, and if you read the entire thread you'd see I said nothing to make him feel he should "eat humble pie," at all.

i know, rose, thats why there was supposed to be a kiss and a red heart behind it. actually, for what you do here at
the forum, it should be flowers, lots of them. occasionally i am serious.

ximinez, the ref to the beer was on a mssg we exchanged xx years ago (old forum?), nevermind. and its eight if i'd
count my school latin - comes from living abroad since i was 16. makes a good team with my wife, seven languages
and only three alike.

back to kristoff: i think his prog really deserves a push, and its not only the language. whoever can help, pls do so.
he might be to shy to ask. or he is off eating pie with rose all the time.

and keep the humor in the forum ...

Hello,

Sorry to not answer earlier ... (need time to finish eating this huge humble pie)

dRose : I corrected these mistakes (T in the word ePrompter) on the web page. Thank you

Thank you to purpose your help, I would like not give a program with some very bad language's mistakes and specialy in Setting window. Since when you use ePwitch with shortcuts (normal using), you never show the ePSwith window.

If you have any idea to improve it or correct bugs, just tell me or, if you want to do by yourself, just ask me the link to upload the source of the program.

By the way, in a private message, Craig spoke about beta version of ePrompter.
May I know where this link's version is ?
Thank you.

Cheers

K.

Ok.. here's the webpage....

Description
ePSwitch enables you to use 2 instances of ePrompter® to double the account limit for a total of 32. After creating a copy of the folder contaning ePrompter® and a duplicate copy of the file "ePrompter.ini", ePSwitch will launch the ePrompter® session of your choice.
AND ...
Because it can be executed with a command line, ePSwitch offers to create 2 shortcuts on your Desktop, Quick Launch and/or Start Menu so you can launch either your 1st or 2nd ePrompter® session without having to use ePSwitch.
To prevent confusion, ePSwitch allows you to customize your shortcuts by letting you choose between 18 icons !

INSTALLation - PROCESS
INSTALLATION
Just extract the ZIP package in a folder of your choice.
After the inital execution, ePSwitch checks for the original ePrompter® install and offers to create :

* the 2nd ePrompter® install (folder and INI file)
* the 2 shorcuts of ePSwitch with command lines.
PROCESS
All settings are written in the file "ePSwitch.ini" located in the application folder (The registery is kept clean except for shortcut information).
Download the file comdlg32.ocx if it is not present in your OS.
(see Files Missing page for other files and more information.)

kristoff, or anybody using this: with the two separate icons on the desktop
it actually works like i wanted it to, but one issue: they do open the requested
version of eP, but only put an icon in the taskbar. clicking that one then opens
the actual eP accounts window.

could this step not be bypassed somehow? the desktop icon clicked opening
the eP window directly?
