eprompter stopped working for me a few months ago. I decided to delete the program and go with pop peeper. I deleted the program and still have files I can't get rid of. Anybody have any ideas as to how I can get rid of this program once and for all? I tried writing support, I fill out the form, hit send and nothing happens. The spell check on this forum doesn't even work for me. This has become an eprompter nightmare. Every time I reboot my machine, I get a message about eprompter files showing up that don't work. How CAN they work.. even exist if I deleted the program? I finally ran a search tonight on the word, "eprompter". Up popped 12 files. Can't delete any of them. I'm so sick of eprompter. (heavy sigh). Sorry, if I sound disgusted.

I'm sorry you've been having a difficult time. :(

Please go to the Help menu in the main ePrompter screen. Select "Uninstall ePrompter," and follow the instructions that follow. If you can't get to the main ePrompter screen, use Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel to uninstall. Then find this file: C:\Windows\eprompter.ini and delete it. Reboot. At that point, I don't think there will be any more eprompter files but if there are, you should be able to delete them. Post back if you have further problems or questions.

thank you for writing back. The main page I'm looking at does not have "help": http://www.eprompter.com/

I deleted the program via "Add/Remove Programs" in my Control Panel a month ago and still have files which is why I wrote. It's like a virus I can't get rid of. I should have just left it alone.

When I referred to the main ePrompter screen, I meant what's in the attached screen snapshot...but yours won't be red like mine.

The problems you're describing don't sound familiar at all. If you've uninstalled using Add/Remove Programs, deleted the file, C:\Windows\eprompter.ini, and still have remaining files that are causing problems, all I can suggest is that we wait for a more knowledgeable moderator or Ximinez (the Administrator) to offer additional advice.

Sounds like you still have the eprompter shortcut either on your desktop or in your startup folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Eprompter files are in the c:\Program Files\Eprompter folder.
It also has it's own Uninstall program.

Also delete the c:\windows\eprompter.ini file.

Here's the FAQ with eP's Total Uninstall Instructions. Following those instructions will eliminate the things Texfisk referred to. Go down a couple of paragraphs in the FAQ, and start reading where it says:

Please let us know if you need further assistance. Apologies for not posting the above yesterday, but there were distractions here and I couldn't find the darned link.
